GENERAL FAQ'S

What are your hours of operation?

Our business hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM. We are closed for major holidays including New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. 

Our service area extends approximately 200 miles around each of our full-service facilities in Franklin Park, Illinois, Memphis, Tennessee, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Middletown, New York. We service the greater Chicago area and all of northern and central Illinois, NW Indiana, Southern Wisconsin, Eastern Iowa, Southwest Michigan, Missouri, Central Arkansas, Mississippi, and surrounding areas.

We can also coordinate rentals all over the US through our partnerships with local forklift rental shops outside of our service area.  

Yes, all forklift operators are required by OSHA to complete certified safety training to operate a forklift. National Lift Truck provides OSHA-approved operator safety training. Please visit our training page for more information. 

We do not provide operators for rented equipment but we do provide operator training classes for our business customers. 

We sell and rent equipment exclusively to businesses. We primarily cater to small to mid-size commercial, industrial, and construction businesses including contractors. 

To be come a customer of National Lift Truck, please contact our Accounts Receivable department at NLCAR@nlt.com to request a credit application.  

Our specialized hauling team provides both ground and dock delivery services. 

RENTAL FAQ'S

Do you require reservations?

We prefer to have 24 hours advance notice, but we can often accommodate same-day requests. Please Call Us for urgent rental requests.

Although we maintain our equipment at the highest standards, breakdowns can happen unexpectedly. But rest assured, our responsive team is available 24/7 to get you back up and running as quickly as possible. Contact our Service Department at (888) 848-4290 for help and we will dispatch our team of field-technicians for on-site repairs or exchange the unit as soon as possible to minimize downtime.

Yes. The vast majority of rentals are delivered, with most equipment on-site by 7am. We also offer the option for customer to pick up equipment directly from our locations.

Our friendly and knowledgeable team specializes in solving even the most complicated material handling jobs. In addition to our extensive selection of unique and specialty forklifts, we have a team of long-time hands-on managers and team members with decades of experience to help find the right solution. We even provide on-site evaluations to ensure you have the right equipment for the job.  

Yes. When you are finished with your equipment, call our rental department to stop the rental arrange for pick-up.

If you need to keep your equipment longer than anticipated, just give our rental team a call and we will adjust your rental contract.

Yes, get our best rates on long-term rentals – discounted rates on rentals longer than a month.

Yes, daily weekly rentals as well.

We do offer customer pick-up options but do not provide trailers. 

Gas and diesel charges are based on consumption while propane is a flat fee. Our equipment is delivered with a full tank and you will be charged only for the fuel you use.
